Posted - 19 Sep 2012 : 02:45:48 Hi folks, I have looked for pictures/measurements of the norman 20 - with canopy, and cannot find any! Can anyone help me?
There is a Norman 20 canopy up for sale and it's a bargain - if you have a norman 20! I'm fairly certain when I measured my Norman (project), it was 22', but when I look at the 23' I think it looks more similar to mine! I can resolve this part though!
I desperately want a new canopy!! |

Posted - 21 Sep 2012 : 09:46:39 Nooo Waaaay!!! The person I got the boat from has the visor. I'm just waiting for him to locate it! How strange you would have a conopy!! Amazing. How much would you like for it? If it's in poor state I could just use it as a template.
Now you have seen my boat, what do you think it is worth? Very little I Imagine. I am a perfectionist so I will do it up a treat |

Definitely a 22 I would say & an early one at that !
Do you have the screen (wrap round perspex ?)
May have a tired but servicable canopy if so

Posted - 19 Sep 2012 : 18:55:31 Our new canopy was bought off a guy who bought it for his 23.
It was a 22 canopy & would not fit correctly no matter how he tried! A 20 is a different animal completely !
The Tom Thumbs such as Coverit & Wilsons or Kinver will have patterns for the 22/23. Others will make a bespoke one to fit
Post us a pic of the boat & we'll tell you which you have (A 22 is 22'6 !!)

Posted - 19 Sep 2012 : 12:46:11 A good canopy upholsterer wont need, nor use the old canopy. Each canopy is bespoke because most Normans are 'tinkered' with over the years and the aluminium frames fitted can vary. If you lived nearer to me in Preston i would put you in touch with my brother who does this for a living. He fitted my Norman 20 recently and made a Ist class job without the need for a sample canopy. Unfortunatly for you(fortunatly for him)he dosent need to travel so far as he is kept busy enough up this way. Good luck with your search I would suggest to visit your local marina and ask boat owners where they had their's done. |

Posted - 19 Sep 2012 : 08:37:26 Hi there,
Good pics!
The canopy is brand spanking new! It cost the person £600+ but is currently £200.
I would buy new if I knew where to get one/have one made - without having the old one!!

Posted - 19 Sep 2012 : 07:39:48 The answer is probably not, canopies only last so long so s/h ones tend to be a false economy as they are already on their way out, bite the bullet and get one made to fit.
