Does anyone know if they are tweakable to stop this happening?
As the boat is now 90 miles away it's not so easy to experiment.

Posted - 07 Oct 2012 : 15:52:36 2 new tachos working fine off alternators and calibrated to perfection, did most of the job outside a pub just to make sure....
Calibrated each tacho to it's respective engine as close possible then run a jumper between tachos and run one engine just to fine tune them to read the same (both alternators are the same type), definately sounds smoother when the revs read the same than it did before.

Thats How I would see it Dave , although I'm unfamiliar with Valeo - Dont want to tell you how to suck eggs , but if soldering onto the diode terminal (Pre diode) dont forget to stick a crock clip or something onto the diode leg to act as a heat sink as diodes hate heat !!
Edit - Of course you could just replace the glass..........

Posted - 23 Sep 2012 : 15:45:13 Well swapped the pickups and were mostly rock solid all weekend apart from a few minor ticks which changed side so that must be a pickup issue, now bought both home to re-calibrate from a signal generator as I'm sure they read different at the same rpm.

just a thought - Swap the Tacho feedsfrom 1-2 & see if it still jumps - If so maybe it points to the feed ?
