Hi fellow Norman people, just a quick question, I have a 23 and hopping to change my outboard within the next week or so but am not sure if I should get a long or short shaft and what the diference is.
On fleebay at the mo is a 30hp 2003 honda 4stroke, but it's a short shaft, does it matter at all and if so why?

You need a longshaft on a norman, otherwise the prop won't be in clear water and will just cavitate in it's own vacuum behind the transom, it will move it but not very well, forget stopping or manouvering with any control with a short shaft.
