Posted - 30 Aug 2012 : 12:50:26 Having spent 12 months refurbing my Norman 20 i now need something to push it along. Does anyone know of an Outboard for sale ? 15hp / 4 Stroke / Long Shaft / Electric Start I will need all the usual control/cables Whilst i dont want a 'shed' i am on a tight budget and the Traders are asking a little too much. I live in the Preston (Lancashire) area so travelling within 1 hr radius would be ok. Many Thanks for any leads !! |

Posted - 10 Sep 2012 : 19:55:06 That outboard came with remotes and cables so was not tiller control. Would nave been ideal at that price. |

Posted - 10 Sep 2012 : 07:53:21 Yes that did look like a good motor however it was tiller control. I really need a 15hp long shaft elec start with all the cables. I know i will need to budget aroung £1000, maybe more, but due to the fact that my project has wiped me out of most of my cash i am hoping i can pick up a quality bargin. I went to the Northern Boat Jumble on Sunday 9th but, as predicted there was only tired old motors for sale. Not worth the hassle in my eyes so the rader is still switched on. Thanks for any leads ! |

Posted - 06 Sep 2012 : 14:20:11 A decent second-hand outboard at a sensible price is a very rare beast and your target spec is probably the most sought after and thus even more rare second-hand.
You haven't stated your budget but I suspect you will have to increase it or settle for a different engine (manual start or two stroke etc).
Also, keep an eye out for boats for sale that include a suitable engine. It sounds daft but you it might be a cheaper way to get the engine you want! |

Posted - 06 Sep 2012 : 12:39:40 Yes it's down on my list on Sunday. I went to the earlier one this year but unfortunatly would have needed a full tool kit to repair everything on offer. Hopefully there might be something better this time. Cheers |

Posted - 06 Sep 2012 : 11:47:21 The Norther Boat Jumble is on this Sunday, You might be able to pick something there, here's the link. http://www.boatjumbleassociation.co.uk/ You do tend to get more second hand stuff earlier in the season though. |

Posted - 05 Sep 2012 : 12:42:53 Yes, i have rung on a regular basis but they only tend to have models valued well over my budget. I'll keep trying, so thanks for mentioning it. |

Posted - 04 Sep 2012 : 22:40:50 HI Have you tried Bridgehouse Marina at Natby, just outside Garstang on the Lancaster canal ?? Not sure what they have in the way of used engines, but they may be able to help, and they are almost on your doorstep
