I just bought my 2nd Norman, an 18.5 called Mr Happy. It is so tempting to rush in, strip out all the stinky woodwork and start with a gutted cabin and cockpit. But I think that'll take ages!

So what do you all suggest?

Do the bare minimum you need to make it watertight and cruiseable then get out there and enjoy the river/canal.

Oh, and just in case you were in any doubt, definitely get some beer in.

I thought Deanos answer was good, then I read DFs, brilliant!

Sod tesco, take the boat to a pub and then worry about the rest!

Nip to Tesco, Buy some food and beer, Fill up the tank. Cast off and enjoy the end of the summer.

Then worry about the rest later. At least you will have a far better list of priorities.
