Posted - 27 Aug 2012 : 09:03:25 On Saturday 26th a Norman 23 called Meggy was stolen from the moorings at lionhearts cruising club Great Linford Milton Keynes on the Grand union canal. this was only discoverd at lunch time yesterday when the owner came down to take his son on a weeks holiday. thanks to the towpath telecom and all members driving all around the MK canal area we finally found her. she was found at bridge 96 just passed fenny lock (2 hours from its mooring) we sailed down to pick it up after the police had done their stuff. the theives have stolen the Engine, morse control and cables, the UPVC hood and frame, the drivers seat and even the windscreen and side windows. police suspect it may be somebody who has a Normnam 23 mk3 to do up if anybody knows of of a norman that suddenly is rebuilt within days please let us know as some of the pieces of the boat as quite recognisable. until the insurance lets the owner now what they will do with the boat he is are not sure if he will have to sorce parts to rebuild it please let me now if you see anything many thanks Jim ] |

Posted - 28 Aug 2012 : 07:26:57 This is bloody evil, we are doing up a norman 23 have spent a lot of money on it I would deal severly with thieves if I found out who they are hope they catch them, this is one of the reasons I am investigating a video texting system for the boat wont catch them but would transmitt info that may lead to later convictions
