Hi people, went to go out on my 23 and the throttle cable snapped Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, well when I say snapped the steel strands at the end bit on the engine have come out of the cap that clamps around it, have tried to repair it by hacksawing the cap in half, cutting the stray strands off (and nearly my hand!) and forcing the cap over and clamping it tightly in a vice, just got to put it back on and hope it doesn't pull through.
If it does. anyone have a throttle cable for sale? Mine is a 33C I think, which from tip to tip (both ends have a threaded bit) is 9 foot 11 inches (119 inches)
Thanks
Mike

33C is a standard cable and available in any length, buy new.

Thanks, I didn't realise they were that cheap, not knowing about them I thought they would be some silly rip of price.
Cheers

I ran a chap up to Beeston marina last yr (Was fishing & he'd broken down) - Throttle cable was around £20 IIRC

Best to replace it ! Unless you need the repair just to get back home or to a chandlers to replace.

Cables aren't that dear, personally for the cost of a new one you know it will last.
