Posted - 06 Jul 2012 : 08:17:26 The few minutes I used the engine when I tested the boat before I bought it I was surprised how well it went. I don't know the power because the ID plate is missing I only reconised it from Photo,s. But it will be for sale when I take it out If any one is interested. |

Posted - 05 Jul 2012 : 22:39:45 I was surprised at what the Yanmar single could do in a clinker hull , we struggled to keep up on the Trent !, The Kubota tho is a much better bet , I looked at replacing our petrol inboard with one years ago but went for the Honda BF15 with a transom conversion.
A little noisy tho maybe ? Maybe not so much a problem on a 32

Posted - 05 Jul 2012 : 21:45:21 I don.t think the Yanmar is powerfull enough especialy with the rain we get when on rivers also reliabilty and spares. Kubota spares are easier to get but should not need because I am putting a new engine in |

May be a good choice if the price is right - Is your Yanmar not up to the job then ? (I recall a certain wooden boat that moved 'gud-enuff' with a Yanmar (Even out in the wash)
