Posted - 24 Jun 2012 : 21:20:32 Hi All
Actually got out on my boat this evening which was nice - between rain and SSA.
Made myself busy this afternoon by pulling out the fuel tank from my N20 to remove the old carpet from beneath it. I wanted to push it back a bit but the valve stops it going under the engine well neatly. Its one of the red quicksilver ones and has 4 screws around the valve. I may get enough room if i turn the valve 180 degrees. Does anyone know if the screws are in captive nuts and i can undo them and turn the valve unit or will there just be a clunck as the nuts drop into the fuel and i ruin my tank?
Thanks

Posted - 25 Jun 2012 : 09:21:41 Hi there, I would imagine that the screws either screw into a threaded captive nut or into a threaded hole in the tank skin. Otherwise how would the "loose" nut be held in place initialy on assembly. |
