Posted - 20 Feb 2012 : 15:39:54 Hi.
I have a Honda BF9.9A, (9.9 HP mid 90's vintage) Outboard on my Norman 20 and, having inspected the 3 blade prop and noted the chunks missing, have decided to take the plunge and fit a new one.
A friend who also has a Norman 20 but with an 8 HP Honda motor has changed his and fitted a four blade prop which he thinks is an improvement on the three blade!
I have today phoned a nearby marina for a price and they couldn't find a four blade prop for my motor, although they were available for the 8 and 10 HP.
They have kindly phoned the technical department at Honda who have confirmed that there is no four blade prop suitable for my motor and wouldn't recommend fitting one to it if I could find one to fit.
Has anybody fitted a four blade to their Honda 9.9 HP and also can anybody suggest why Honda would not recommend fitting one.
Many thanks and kind regards as usual.
