Stan the Man
Posted - 12 Feb 2012 : 13:16:49 When we acquired her, our little boat (Norman 27) had a framework of separate bits of wood framing the lower half of the forward starboard panelling in the cockpit.
It has always been my intention to replace this with some kind of locker to store the lock windlass(es) and mooring clips so they are readily to hand.
It must be my cack-handedness but this simply bit of woodwork went through three iterations before I was reasonably happy with the result - a cupboard which has a lock where we can store the necessary. Admittedly it is debatable whether the lock would defeat a three year old child with a plastic toothpick for more than 10 seconds but it should deter the opportunist two year old.
