Posted - 12 Feb 2012 : 11:27:11 Hunky 'B' has hitherto had a couple of long blue "sausage" fenders on ropes tied to the pulpit rail which, as well as not being an ideal shape, are a little too far back to provide good protection.
It is clear that there were, at some stage or other, a couple of fenders eyes screwed to the gunwales forward of this but that these have been lost some time in the past.
Fortunately, Bainbridge marine do a very close replacement, in alloy, at

As Bainbridge do not supply the consumer direct, I got mine through Wharf House Narrowboats at Braunston who provided excellent service.
I chose round(ish) ball fenders for fitting to the new eyes and these were purchased from Compass Marine who were also very helpful and very quick in despatching my order.
For anyone in need to replacement fender eyes, those from Bainbridge were a very close match. |
