Posted - 18 Dec 2011 : 14:17:35 So I have started my restoration project. I will post my progress here with as many pics so if you notice me doing anything stupid please let me know. This is the first time I have restored anything but as you can see from the photos Quo Vadis really needs some love and care before the next season.

So I started today by removing some of the previous owners additions and have discovered there will be quite a bit to do. All the wood on the seats needs replacing and what is left needs to be sanded and re varnished.
.
Hopefully I will get some time over Christmas to do some work.

Posted - 21 Jun 2014 : 19:20:16 I handed over the keys to the new owner of Quo Vadis this morning. I hope mike and family enjoy her as much as I did over the years. It was so strange to watch her leave the moorings without us but happy it went to someone I trust will look after her and use often.
Good luck Mike.

Posted - 31 Mar 2014 : 21:04:34 Now the sun is out and the floods receded its time to push the sell. Sorry everyone.
It's a common question, but is the classified page working here. This is where I found and brought QuoVadis 3 years ago so it does work.

Posted - 04 Jan 2014 : 20:53:37 Bob, did you ever get your Norman that was stolen back?
As QuoVadis is up for sale it has pushed me to get out in the rain and finish all the little jobs that needed doing. The wireing and navigation lights is now all in but think I need to replace the head lamp as it was fairly cheap and rusted quickly (£14), think I'll go for quality this time.
Today I finished off the cubby holes at the stern with the wooden panneling. This is all the wood work complete (I hope) All the other bits I built seem to have lasted.

I need to replace some seals and fill some holes then it's just a good clean hand hopefully get some interest.

Posted - 07 Dec 2013 : 20:22:54 Hello all, it's been a while since I posted but after a really good season on the river we have decided to put Quo Vadis up for sale. Really want her to go to a good home so will spend the winter cleaning and doing all the little jobs I never got around to but hopefully people can see the work and effort put in over the years.
Here is my basic site to help http://quovadis2.weebly.com/
This isn't an advert btw.

Posted - 30 Apr 2013 : 11:58:30 Inspiring stuff, Sir!!! Thanks for posting such a detailed account ... I'm sure it will help me greatly with ideas.
Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day. Teach a man to fish ... and he'll sit in a boat drinking beer all day. Hic! |

Posted - 31 Mar 2013 : 15:48:26 Tigtog, you were brave to go out. Still weeks later and not much sign of the boats going back in. Not too bothered, gives me more time to do things. First day thr sun is out so decided to clean the canopy. Got it off the boat and back home. A couple of buckets of warm soapy water and some elbow grease it's looking pretty good inside and out.
. .

Fingers crossed we can all get out soon.
