Back to the real world now. Found an old pic of the Boat For My Potplants showing how it was on that cold winter's day when I madly said YES.

See www.aboatformypotplants.blogspot.com

The boat came with TWO outboard motors. One, a 2hp (pictured), and a Johnson 4hp. I gave both to my brother-in-law, who is a mechanic, to check over. The 2hp is siezed at the pivot, and the 4hp does work and I've had it serviced and ready-to-go, but it has no reverse gear, so I thought I'd use it as a back-up when I go voyaging across to the Other Side (of the river).

I'm amazed that you found that pic on the blog - I didn't think anyone looked at it!
