Hi all, As new boaters, we have had great advice over the last few months, thankyou loads.... here's yet another question. I've read so much different stuff about how to stop the engine freezing over winter..
we dont have shore power...what do people on here do?

thanks for that Lester.:) we already have had watery engine bay bilges that i can only think is from the rear deck.. I rang coverit and they can make us one for a reasonable fee so I am doing that in the morning

Hi the back cover is realy important as the drain holes on the deck block quite easy, you will get a boat full of rainwater if that happens. If you cant get a proper cover made sheet it up for the winter. |

thanks Dave, will do that this week....luckily no frosts here yet.. some of the winterising I was looking at seemed very complicated.need to contact coverit now for the new back cover,she doesnt have one.the previous owners used a tarp..

Assuming it's a split water system (raw water through heat exchanger/anti-freeze through engine block) shut off sea cock and open weed strainer, pour strong anti-freeze mix into weed strainer and run engine till it comes out the exhaust, shut off engine while it's still full of the mix.
Drain any domestic water systems down and disconnect water pump, if you have a sea toilet pump some anti-freeze through it and turn off the sea cocks on the inlet and outlet..
