I've been trying to resurrect the old and (I think) original water system, but no joy. There was a galvanised steel tank in the bow and hoses going to the foot-pump in the galley. Have managed to get water into the tank and have filled half-full.
Constant foot-pumping has only produced a few drops of water out the tap, so I think the pump itself is knackered.
Does anyone know if these are still available, or if not, any recommendations for an alternative please?

As per Carpetbloke.....
Our Cold water system was by a 'Tap Pump' never worked properly.
I initially added a s/h Sureflo pump (Now resident on Dads Sewer tube  ) and later by a new Sureflo. I dont use the pressure switch but have fitted a push button - press & instant cold water (Brrrrrr !)
Yes its extra cash , but so so so much better !
There is the option of those cheap submersible caravan type pumps if you dont fancy the price of a good self priming type.

Many thanks to everyone for helpful advice. I hadn't heard of Whale before, and it seems the way to go if I can't repair the old pump. At least I know what I'll be doing on Saturday now.

Thanks df. It's a sealed tank, unfortunately, but I only want to use the water for washing hands and washing up - not for drinking.

I think whale still do them, does the tank have an access panel? My old galvanised tanks didn't and when I cut them open to fit one they were minging inside, bitumen paint can be used but leaves a taste to the water.
