I have been told that if you are going to use a roller, the best to use in Mohare roller, and does anyone know how much paint to use, maybe a formula or rule of thumb.

Get hold of the International Paints booklet. Full of fantastic information... even if you don't use their paint it is still a godsend. Pick one up at any good chandlers, you may even be able to download it from their site.
Use good quality short pile rollers, not the cheep stuff usually sold for emulsion.
Preparation is the key and use the correct undercoat for the paint you finally decide on.

Hi
I used ordinary Dulux Weathershield Trade Gloss - about a litre for doing two coats (23 ft boat) - using an ordinary gloss roller, and then 'laying off' with a brush soon afterwards, whilst still wet. Take care about which part of the day to do it...early morning is okay if there is no dew or moisture - otherwise wait till midday - but well before 4pm during these autumn / winter / spring months. Hope that helps a bit.
