Hello folks and thanks for the advice about the pump.
It was the rack that had stuck wide open and I managed to sort it with copious amounts of WD40 and a Brummegem screwdriver.

Not that cheap really, £50 to get to the boat then all day doing it
in the rain, plus the joker's left my wiring in a mess.
