I am refurbishing a Norman 20, and have stripped and cleaned the side sliding windows. On one side, the channel felt that guides the sliding pane has completely perished - any ideas where I can get some? I've tried rubber U channel, but the glass wont slide over that, so needs to be the felt/fabric type.

Have you stripped the frames down? If not you might have a problem getting the glass onto the flock once formed in the channel, but Eagle will advise you if there is a trade trick. Use contact adhesive and the flat flock I did and the job was easy but I had stripped my frames down to have them powder coated. Good luck |

Go for the flat stuff, it forms a good U when you put it in the runner, the U shaped stuff doesn't fit as well.
Remember to cut the rubber where the drain holes are and tag it in place with a bit of glue.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions - I've now found the items on line. As suggested, I've contacted Eagle, who have recommended a 25mm flat flock strip, that I assume I have to mould and glue into the 10mm wide channel. However, I see that both Hadlow's and Seals Direct sell a 10mm squared flock "U" shaped channel for similar money.
Has anyone had experience of both types, and which would they recommend? My first thought is that it would be much simpler to go with the "U" shaped seal.... |

l still found eagle boat windows to be cheaper and more helpful as they refurbish windows and seem to know what they are talking about |
